Decachlorohexa-1,5-diene

The title compound, C(6)Cl(10), cystallizes in a nearly C2-symmetrical gauche conformation. Both trichloro-vinyl groups are nearly planar [Cl-C-C-Cl torsion angles = -178.47 (12) and -179.93 (11)°] and the lengths of their C-Cl bonds increase from the terminal trans and cis C-Cl bonds to the inter-nal bonds. The Cl-C-Cl bond angles of the terminal dichloro-methyl-ene units are compressed to 111...

Acyclic Diene Metathesis (ADMET) Polymerization for Precise Synthesis of Defect-Free Conjugated Polymers with Well-Defined Chain Ends

This accounts introduces unique characteristics by adopting the acyclic diene metathesis (ADMET) polymerization for synthesis of conjugated polymers, poly(arylene vinylene)s, known as promising molecular electronics. The method is more suitable than the other methods in terms of atom efficiency affording defect-free, stereo-regular (exclusive trans) polymers with well-defined chain ends; the re...

Pentacyclo[8.2.1.14,7.02,9.03,8]tetradeca-5,11-diene

The title compound, C(14)H(16), was prepared through [2 + 2] cyclo-addition of norbornadiene. There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit: each is centrosymmetric with the centroid of the four-membered ring located about an inversion center. Each mol-ecule possesses an exo-trans-exo conformation.

Bisalkynylated 3,6-diiminocyclohexa-1,4-diene-1,4-diamine.

Reduction of bis(benzothiadiazol) by LiAlH4/CuI gives diethynylated diaminobenzoquinoneimine. This building block accesses novel targets in a one-step condensation reaction with different ortho-quinones, resulting in unexpected rearrangement products. The compounds are characterized by their photophysical and electrochemical data as well as quantum chemical calculations.
